What are some cover crop options for my 150 SF veg garden which I a not planting this year. I want to keep the weeds from taking over and may palnt again in a year .

A couple things:

1. Any seed will need to be watered in following planting.
2. DO NOT let the cover crops flower and seed, or you'll have additional weed pressure. Or mow/cut back the cover crop during the season.

Have you considered just using mulch to prevent weed growth? This could be grass clippings, chopped leaves, wood mulch, etc. Grass clippings and leaves could be turned into the soil in the fall. The wood mulch could be removed and used elsewhere in the landscape.
