Funny enough, reseed with Kentucky bluegrass. Bluegrass is one of the most drought tolerant species we have - and when there are periods of dry, it will go dormant (turn brown). Bluegrass is pretty "smart" and will regulate its growth based on how much water it receives.
You can buy high-quality seed at many nurseries and garden centers or directly from a grass seed dealer, such as Pawnee Buttes Seed and Buffalo Brand Seed, both located in Greeley. Use 4-5 pounds of seed/1000 square feet for overseeding rates.
During the winter, try to water your lawn a few times, especially if we have another dry winter. What killed your lawn may have been a number of things; but watering occasionally will help get it through the winter more successfully.
